Ashley Judd to Run for Senate in Kentucky?

You know, I was just sitting around the other day and though: “What we really need in Government is more actors to represent the American people.” Oh wait, that didn’t happen. But, alas, it appears Ashley Judd is now aiming to join “comedian” Al Franken in the US Senate. I listed Mitch McConnell in the likely-hold column in my 2014 GOP preview, and I’m not quite ready to change that. Though McConnell only won by 6 points in 2008, it was also a Democratic sweep year and his opponent was a blue-dog moderate and businessman, a resume that would play well in Kentucky.

Although Judd was a TN delegate for Obama in 2012, there usually isn’t much objection to state hoppers, so I wouldn’t consider that an issue. But she is, by most accounts, a far-left activist on the level of President Obama, who lost the state by 22 points to Mitt Romney in 2012. Will Judd’s anti-gun, anti-coal, anti-hunting (she once attacked Sarah Palin for supporting wolf hunting to protect caribou population), pro-abortion, pro-Obamacare message (and twitchy is compiling some of her “interesting” public statements) resonate with Kentuckians? I’d like to think not. But, then, I have to remember that Al Franken is a US Senator today….

What do you guys think? Chance, or no chance of a Judd victory?
