Bruised ribs and a cracked wrist: Brett Lee shows Piers Morgan no mercy

Piers Morgan, who likes to shoot his mouth off during Arsenal and England cricket matches — and then almost immediately take his words back — managed to get himself into a situation where he had to face an over from former Australia fast bowler Brett Lee.

Morgan, a CNN chat show host and the former editor of the Daily Mirror in England, is currently in Australia enjoying the cricket, though he arrived with the series already decided — Australia having won the first three Tests to take back the Ashes.

Morgan has been quite critical of the English team, but then got a taste of what it’s like to face an Australian fast bowler — and one of the fastest in the world during his day.

Keeping his promise Brett Lee did not hold back from bowling bouncers, targetting Morgan’s rib-cage at full pace. The TV presenter didn’t manage to put bat to ball even once, taking one in the ribs and getting bowled — but he still managed to mouth off to Lee, saying “come on, bring it on”.

At the end of the over, he also said, “I’m available for selection,” to the England Cricket Board.

Cricket Australia released the video of the over (above) and we’ve embedded a host of tweets below which will help you understand the story better.
