Food Stamps: Obama’s Road to Socialism

food-stamps-220x120 Food Stamps: Obama’s Road to Socialism In order to establish a true socialistic government, you have to make the people believe that they have to rely on the government for their very livelihood. This includes jobs, health care and most of all food.

One way to get the people to depend on the government for their food is to create an economic down turn that costs jobs and lowers income for the middle class. In a socialistic society, there is no middle class.

When Barack Obama took office in January 2009, he did inherit a bad economy. There were a number of common sense things that he could have done to improve the economy, but he chose to do the opposite in most instances. The results of his actions drove the economy down even further. Millions of middle class families lost their jobs, homes and moved from the middle class to the ranks of the poverty class.

The dire circumstances have forced millions of Americans to swallow their pride of being able to take care of their families to having to look for charity and handouts. One of the first places they turn to is the government and food stamps. In January 2009, there were approximately 32 million Americans receiving food stamps. The latest report just came out which was for June 2012, said that the number of Americans now receiving food stamps has risen to 46.7 million. That’s a 46% increase in only 3 years and 5 months.

According to the U.S. Census population clock, the current population of the U.S. is 314,302,479 (at the time of this writing). Just straight math says that 14.9% of the U.S. population is receiving food stamps. That means that 1 out of every 6-7 people in America are relying on the government and food stamps to help put food on their tables. To put that in perspective, if you go to a Major League baseball game that has an attendance of 30,000, approximately 4,470 of those fans will be receiving food stamps.

I don’t know what the magic number is that the Obama socialists need in order to implement their successful transition to a socialist government, but they appear to be getting closer to that number every day. If they are not stopped in November, I fear we may reach their magic number in a very short time and then it will be too late for free America to stop them.
