After going into hiding following the FBI’s bombshell announcement Friday that its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s illegal private email server was officially back on, Clinton’s closest confidant Huma Abedin has resurfaced.
When it became clear that the new evidence prompting the reopening of the private server case came from a separate FBI investigation into the sexting relationship between Abedin’s estranged husband Anthony Weiner and a 15-year-old girl, Abedin — perpetually attached to Clinton’s hip — conspicuously disappeared. For nearly a week, questions swirled around among political analysts about whether Clinton would be forced to finally throw Abedin under the bus to protect her panicky, embattled campaign.
Apparently not, well at least not completely. Though Abedin has been unceremoniously yanked from the campaign trail in the final week of the election, she was reportedly scheduled to host a fundraiser Thursday night in D.C.
We also now know where Weiner is: He’s checked himself into a sex addiction rehab clinic.
As for the FBI investigation, Abedin’s attorney says she will gladly cooperate with investigators. Though she shared the laptop with her sex-addict husband, she says that she has no idea how the reported thousands of emails sent from Clinton’s server got on the device.
