North Carolina recently passed a bill that mandates people use their biological gender for what restroom they use in public.
If you are born a female, you use the women’s restroom; if you are born a male, you use the men’s restroom. Toronto has a very different law allowing transgender people to use whatever restroom they want regardless of what gender they are. Can you guess what happened?
Christopher Hambrook, a 37-year-old man, took advantage of Toronto’s law by using his “rights” to “identify” himself as a woman, under the name of “Jessica.
He got access to the women’s shelters where he sexually assaulted several women in 2012. One woman said that she woke up to see Christopher Hambrook on her bed assaulting her. “Her tights had been pulled down past her bottom and her bathing suit had been pulled to the side.
She yelled at the accused, demanding to know what he was doing. He simply covered his face with his hands, said ‘Oops!’ and started giggling,” according to court documents. The court also heard some evidence of Hambrook terrorizing a deaf woman who lived in the shelter.
The court heard that, “The accused grabbed the complainant’s hand and forcible placed it on his crotch area while his penis was erect.” That same deaf woman also said that Hambrook would look through a gap between the door and its frame while she showered.
The worst part of this story is that women’s shelters are in place to take care of women and children who have possibly been abused mentally, emotionally, and physically. Do you think “men” should be allowed in a women’s shelter if he identifies as a woman?
