Having been made a complete fool of by Russia’s Putin, Obama is in schoolyard whining mode, making fun of Putin and calling him names while criticizing Russia’s stand on gays.
This is beneath the office of the president and once again demonstrates how out of his depth our buffoon-in-chief is. In criticizing Putin, Obama groused that Putin has “got that kind of slouch, looking like the bored kid in the back of the classroom.” Can you imagine if a Republican president (say, George W. Bush) behaved in so sophomoric and pathetic a fashion? The media’s response would have been indescribable.
If that wasn’t awful enough, Obama audaciously declared of Russia: “I have no patience for countries that try to treat gays or lesbians or transgender persons in ways that intimidate them or are harmful to them.”
Really? Russia is not mutilating and executing gays the way Muslim regimes do under the Sharia.
And Obama supports most vicious anti-gay regimes in the world. The gay community should be disgusted by such political exploitation.
The Muslim Brotherhood’s genocidal position on homosexuality is quite clear. Where is Obama’s condemnation?
Mashregh News, a government-controlled paper in Iran, recently claimed that Israel “spreads homosexuality” around the world in its quest for world domination. The article, said Chris Karnak on the gay website GGG, “reads like an article from the Nazi agitation paper Der StŁrmer.”
Dr. Wahied Wahdat-Hagh, an expert on Iran’s treatment of minorities of all kinds, said that the piece was “against gays, against the West and anti-Semitic,” and that it “legitimizes the execution of gays in Iran; they made a text not only to ridicule the West but to provide a reason why Iran executes gays.”
The article in Mashregh News was not unusual. It was indicative of the sorry treatment of gays all over the Islamic world.
GayStarNews reported last June that the Indonesian city of Tasikmalaya in West Java is seeking to criminalize homosexuality, in accordance with Islamic law, sharia. Last January, three Muslims in London were arrested on hate crime charges for handing out leaflets calling for the execution of gays; one explained: “My intention was to do my duty as a Muslim, to inform people of Allah’s word and to give the message on what Allah says about homosexuality.”
The holy book of Islam, the Qur’an, mandates execution for lesbians, but not for gay men (where’s Irshad Manji on that?): “If any of your women commit a lewd act, call four witnesses from among you, then, if they testify to their guilt, keep the women at home until death comes to them or until Allah gives them another way out. If two men commit a lewd act, punish them both; if they repent and mend their ways, leave them alone — Allah is ready to accept repentance from those who do evil out of ignorance and soon afterwards repent: these are the ones Allah will forgive” (4:15-16).
However, the Hadith, the traditions of Muhammad that are normative for Islamic law, says that Muhammad’s companions toppled a wall on gays; in our own age, the Taliban has imitated that punishment. Iran’s Constitution mandates death for gays, and the Iranian Islamic regime has regularly carried out public hangings of gay men.
Where homosexual activity is legal in Muslim countries, some Muslims take the sharia into their own hands. Early in September, the Turkish HŁrriyet Daily News reported: “A gay teenager was allegedly killed last month by his father and uncle in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r in a murder that the boy’s rich and powerful tribal family subsequently sought to cover up, according to local members of the LGBT community.”
Sedef Cakmak, a Lambda member, said: “I feel helpless: we are trying to raise awareness of gay rights in this country, but the more visible we become, the more we open ourselves up to this sort of attack.”
Yet Obama says not a word about this, reserving all his criticism for Russia and its “slouching” leader. He should be defending the principle of equality of rights for all against Islamic supremacism, Sharia and the systematic slaughter of gays in Muslim countries. But that would involve criticizing Islamic law, which Obama has never done and never shown any inclination to do, no matter what human rights abuses are committed in its name. He’d rather criticize Vladimir Putin’s posture.
