The state of Indiana just added one more nail into Obamacare’s coffin.
They join South Carolina, Oklahoma, Georgia, Missouri, and Tennessee in introducing legislation outlawing the destructive healthcare legislation. This makes over ten percent of the country’s state legislatures actively fighting back against the Affordable Care Act with a strategy that is both “legal and effective.”
Mike Maharrey of the Tenth Amendment Center says, ” If five states pass something like this, they’re going to be paying attention. And if ten or fifteen do it? It’s game over for Obamacare.”
Ben Swann reports:
Indiana state Rep. Timothy Harman (R) along with two co-authors have introduced legislation which would virtually nullify Obamcare within the state of Indiana if passed.
The bills legal argument is rooted in anti-commandeering doctrine, which has been established by multiple Supreme Court cases, including Printz vs. United States. This doctrine states that the federal government cannot force or coerce states into carrying out federal law, regulations or programs.
House Bill 1406 (HB1406) would make it so that “an agency, officer, or employee of the state shall not…” engage in an activity that aids any person in the enforcement of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.”
The legislation would also ban the state and its political subdivisions from establishing or participating in a health care exchange under the federal act.
At least ten more states are expected introduce and pass similar legislation in the coming months. The more states that pass laws that effectively ban Obamacare, the quicker it deteriorates. The law would still technically be “on the books,” but the federal government would lack the necessary money and manpower to literally go into every single state to enforce the ACA.
We all know Obamacare is going to collapse sooner or later, one way or another. How about we have it happen on our own terms rather than the federal government’s?
Was your state mentioned above? If so, contact your representatives and let them know you support their fight against Obamacare. Moreover, if your state has not yet introduced similar legislation, encourage your representatives to do so.
Either we can disassemble it state-by-state or sit around and wait for it to completely ruin more people’s lives before it self-destructs — all the while having Obama blaming Republicans for its failure and Sebelius begging everyone for “more time.”
