Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is one of the strongest defenders of liberty we have in the House and, as a bonus, he has certainly demonstrated he could absolutely not care less about being politically correct.
He has explicitly called for Hillary Clinton to be prosecuted over Benghazi, has taken part in suing Barack Obama for his unconstitutional power grabs, and is not afraid to call out Obama, Eric Holder, or anyone for their blatant corruption and disregard to the Constitution. And now he is calling Nancy Pelosi “mind-numbingly stupid” for fabricating lies to smear the GOP for the sake of it.
In other words, he is exactly the type of person we need to replace John Boehner as Speaker of the House.
Rep. Gowdy appeared on Greta Van Susteren’s “On the Record” to discuss Nancy Pelosi’s false claim that the GOP’s efforts to hold Eric Holder in contempt of Congress is really about the GOP trying to “suppress the vote.” Of course, this is absolutely ridiculous.
Apparently, Nancy Pelosi views the Attorney General as some sort of warrior against “voter suppression,” and Republicans, by attempting to hold him in contempt of Congress, are really trying to halt his noble battle against “unfair” election policies.
You know, because the GOP’s fundamental goal is totally about suppressing the vote of the people rather than holding Eric Holder accountable for literally lying to Congress – which is a felony, by the way.
Trey Gowdy summed up Pelosi’s statements in just five words: “This is mind-numbingly stupid.”
You can watch his full exchange here:
Gowdy is absolutely right. He really has a knack for saying exactly what everyone else is thinking. Eric Holder needs to be held accountable for lying to Congress; in doing so, there is not some underlying conspiracy that the GOP “really” wants to “suppress the vote,” despite what Nancy Pelosi chooses to believe.
Holder broke a serious law and he should face the consequences. End of story.
