Some Reactions to Trumps targeted Military Strike Against Syria

COMMENTS:

HOUSE SPEAKER PAUL RYAN

“This action was appropriate and just.”

“Resolving the years-long crisis in Syria is a complex task, but Bashar al-Assad must be held accountable and his enablers must be persuaded to change course. I look forward to the administration further engaging Congress in this effort.”

REPUBLICAN SENATORS JOHN MCCAIN AND LINDSEY GRAHAM

“Building on tonight’s credible first step, we must finally learn the lessons of history and ensure that tactical success leads to strategic progress. That means following through with a new, comprehensive strategy in coordination with our allies and partners to end the conflict in Syria.”

SENATOR BOB CORKER, CHAIRMAN SENATE FOREIGN RELATIONS

“It is critical that Assad knows he will no longer enjoy impunity for his horrific crimes against his own citizens, and this proportional step was appropriate. As we move forward, it will be important for the administration to engage with Congress and clearly communicate its full strategy to the American people.”

REPRESENTATIVE ED ROYCE, CHAIRMAN HOUSE FOREIGN AFFAIRS

“Assad was warned, repeatedly, by the U.S. and the U.N. that the intentional targeting of innocent men, women and children is intolerable. Now Assad has been caught red-handed carrying out another abhorrent chemical attack, and the administration has taken a measured response.”

REPRESENTATIVE ADAM SCHIFF, RANKING MEMBER, HOUSE INTELLIGENCE

“I will be reintroducing an authorization for use of military force against ISIS and al Qaeda when Congress returns to session. Congress cannot abdicate its responsibility any longer and should vote on any use of force not made in self defense. This is necessary whether action is taken against terrorist groups or, as here, against regime capabilities.”

SENATE DEMOCRATIC LEADER CHUCK SCHUMER

“Making sure Assad knows that when he commits such despicable atrocities he will pay a price is the right thing to do.‎ It is incumbent on the Trump administration to come up with a strategy and consult with Congress before implementing it.”

SENATOR BEN CARDIN, TOP DEMOCRAT ON SENATE FOREIGN RELATIONS

“I cannot emphasize this enough, any longer-term or larger military operation in Syria by the Trump administration will need to be done in consultation with the Congress. Furthermore, it is the president’s responsibility to inform the legislative branch and the American people about his larger policy in Syria, as well as the legal basis for this action and any additional military activities in that country.”

SENATOR MARCO RUBIO, REPUBLICAN ON SENATE FOREIGN RELATIONS

“What must follow is a real and comprehensive strategy to ensure that Assad is no longer a threat to his people and to U.S. security, and that Russia no longer has free rein to support his regime.”

REPUBLICAN SENATOR RAND PAUL

“While we all condemn the atrocities in Syria, the United States was not attacked. The president needs congressional authorization for military action as required by the Constitution, and I call on him to come to Congress for a proper debate. Our prior interventions in this region have done nothing to make us safer, and Syria will be no different.”

SENATOR DICK DURBIN, DEMOCRATIC WHIP

“My preliminary briefing by the White House indicated that this was a measured response to the Syrian nerve gas atrocity. Any further action will require close scrutiny by Congress, and any escalation beyond air strikes or missile strikes will require engaging the American people in that decision.”

DEMOCRATIC SENATOR CHRIS COONS

“While I’m encouraged that the Trump administration has felt compelled to act forcefully in Syria against the Assad regime, I’m gravely concerned that the United States is engaging further militarily in Syria without a well-thought-out, comprehensive plan. Frankly, the president’s actions today generate more questions than answers.”

I have serious concerns that the CIA, or other out of control intelligence agency of the U.S. govt arranged for the evidence that Assad was responsible, or that it was arranged by globalists like soros. Russia did not issue a carte blanche statement that their support for Assad is not unflinching, what they did say was, upon proof of Assad’s involvement, they would not support Assad but otherwise remain committed to Syria and Assad. I doubt that the evidence will be adequately produced to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Assad’s military did this.

And, if such proof is forthcoming to the Russian’s point of view, what measures will be made to preserve Syrian Christians when Assad’s military is hobbled? I’m willing to bet none. So, the U.S. will back the extinction of Christians, and destruction of towns, and villages, with lineage back to Christ’s time, why am I not surprised?

Is this Trump’s Warterloo? Only time will tell. But I do know that the U.S. backed muslim “rebels”, correctly referred to by the Russians as “terrorists”, by financing, training, and supplying, in one form or another, with the hopes of overthrowing the Assad govt so that we may run a pipeline across Syria that will ultimately be used to decrease Europe’s dependence on Russian energy products. In turn, these rebels have trained and supplied isis, and likely both isis and our rebels have engaged in the enslavement, rape, and horrible murders, of Syrian Christians.

The U.S. remains blissfully ignorant of this heinous loss of Christian Lives in Syria, and loss of irreplaceable Christian towns, and artifacts, with origins back to Christ’s time on earth, literally the earliest Christians, but we obsess about every wrongful slight against U.S. Jewish citizens by lavishing the term anti-Semitic on these events before we even have the responsible party/s to verify our concerns. This lead to a series of threats against Jewish centers being recently revealed to be coming from a disturbed Jewish man in Israel. Oh the cries of anti-Semitism that were not founded, yet we willingly remain ignorant to the extinction of Syrian Christians backed by U.S. dollars and interests.

What The Media Is Not Telling You About Who Is Behind The Chemical Attack: Muslim Rebels Were Behind The Chemical Attack And Now The Us Government Is Using It To Justify Bombing Syria

The first comment to the above article is:

I’m very uncomfortable with this situation. No thorough investigation, just blame and bombs. Our gov’t has also made it their business to continually provoke Russia.

All of this is REALLY dangerous, IMHO, especially for the Syrian Christians who have been safe under Assad.

This is a sad day for America. A new president, avowing to avoid conflicts in foreign nations, when the U.S. isn’t threatened, suddenly does an about face based on “intelligence” information that he otherwise insists is flawed when it comes to “intelligence” reports attempting to link him to a purported Russian tampering with the elections. America’s actions in supporting the rebels have likely killed tens of thousands of Christians at least indirectly, and he’s acting on unsubstantiated reports causing the death of less than a hundred people. Somewhat more than hypocritical.

Hey, but the muslims will get Syria, the Syrian Christian’s wiped from the face of the earth, but the really important part is we’ll get to build the damn pipeline. Incredible.
