Trump Flanked by Nazi Symbols, Nuclear Mushroom Clouds on Phoenix Billboard

Jerome Hudson,

Thanks to California artist Karen Fiorito, motorists driving on Phoenix’s Grand Avenue can see a massive billboard with nuclear mushroom cloud clown faces and dollar sign swastikas hovering over President Donald Trump.

“I think a lot of people are feeling this way and I’m just trying to express what I think is on a lot of people’s minds these days,” Fiorito told 12 News. “Something that really concerned us was this idea of a dictatorship where things were going in a certain direction.”

The controversial billboard went up Friday as part of the annual three-day Art Detour event in downtown Phoenix.

The billboard’s owner, Beatrice Moore, who also commissioned the display, said the banner imagery would remain up as long as Trump is in office.

“Some of these issues are so important you can’t not speak out,” Moore told 12 News.

Fiorito has a history of creating artwork critical of Republican presidents.

In 2004, she created a billboard with President George W. Bush and senior government officials.

“Dear America,” the billboard said, “we lied to you for your own good. Now trust us.”

Moore and Fiorito said they anticipate harsh criticism for the Trump billboard.

“I just hope that everyone involved in helping bring this message out is safe and that we all get through this unharmed,” Fiorito said.

Image: Offensive Trump Billboard - Different View and Different Perspective

The swastikas on the billboard are not swastikas at all, though implicitly they’re suggestive of them. Some time ago I stumbled on the topic of dollar signs and whether or not they’re supposed to use one line passing down through the center or two.

I was always taught that the dollar sign was originally created as a superposition of “U” and “S”, a uniquely American symbol.

Image: Here, I show the serif and sans versions of the “S”.

Although the following doesn’t discuss one or two bars through the dollar sign, it does discuss the origin of the sign itself.

Article: Where Did the Dollar Sign ‘$’ Come From?

So, what I see in the billboard is two money symbols, not two swastikas. And money surrounding Trump is a natural thing, hence his presidency as likely to result in savings of tax money for Americans, likely to result in increased income and income opportunities for Americans as well. So the dollar signs are hardly offensive, especially if your glass is half full and not half empty.

The nuclear blasts are in the background, these are indicative of several things.

    1. The nuclear blasts that may have occurred had that clown hillary succeeded in achieving the presidency are behind us now, as they are behind Trump.

    2. Only a clown would ignore U.S. / Russian relations and by antagonizing the Russians over this “hacking” allegations, we are risking war that might result in the use of these weapons, because liberals refuse to accept Trump, a very serious business man, as being duly elected to the presidency, which he was.

Years ago, in union safety at work, one fellow safety member used a photo on a safety poster of a small pile of wood in a room. The topic was housekeeping. Come to find out that a supervisor, upset that the guys had a bench for resting in an obscure location, took a sledgehammer to the bench. When the photo appeared, he was incensed, and raised objections of its use to the company safety people. But doing so he ratted-out himself. Few people knew of his destruction of company property in a show of anger, a show in itself that would not be endorsed or encouraged, officially, by the company. The photo of a pile of wood was, subjectively, just a housekeeping issue. Yet he failed to consider that most people would innocently see the photo as a housekeeping issue, not a raging supervisor one.

Art is subjective, to me, this artist failed miserably in making a point against Trump.
