Orlando Shooting and Murder of Singer Fuel Anti-Second Amendment Push
LGBT club shooting and murder of singer Grimmie will add new dimension to drive outlawing firearms.
A shooting in Orlando, Florida at a gay nightclub and the murder of singer Christina Grimmie will be used by the establishment media to call for dismantling the Second Amendment. The club shooting will also be portrayed as a “hate crime” against LGBTs. Outrage following the shootings will feed directly into Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Following the murder of Grimmie at a concert in Orlando on June 10, fans demanded guns be outlawed and the Second Amendment abolished:
Actor Leo DiCaprio called for banning all firearms after the Orlando attack:
Praying won’t help this time but banning guns WILL. #Orlando

The shootings follow promotion of the first National Gun Violence Awareness Day, a national campaign organized by the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, an effort co-chaired by Michael Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York described by the NRA “as a kind of national gun-control vigilante.” The organization was previously known as Mayors Against Illegal Guns.
Celebrities Julianne Moore, Brooke Shields, Russell Simmons, Michael Stipe, and Kim Kardashian came out in support of the campaign and asked supporters to wear orange.
Moore is a leading voice in “gun safety advocacy work.”
In April, Lena Dunham’s “Lenny” website (monetized by Hearst Magazines) posted an article by Moore citing Sandy Hook and calling for more government regulation of firearms.
She has also called for changing the “culture of guns.”
Dunham, the star of the HBO series Girls, is a Hillary Clinton supporter.
“I’m with Hillary because of her plan to quell the gun violence that regularly sends our nation into mass grief. Gun control is a feminist issue—guns are responsible for more intimate partner killings than all other weapons combined, and women are the primary victims of deadly domestic violence. But in 35 American states, the law doesn’t prohibit those convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence from buying guns (or keeping the ones they already have). Hillary has a plan specifically to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers,” she wrote for Time Magazine in April.
Clinton has made “gun safety” a central theme of her presidential campaign. She is endorsed by Bloomberg and Everytown for Gun Safety. Other groups calling for rolling back the Second Amendment have also endorsed Clinton, including the Brady Campaign to End Gun Violence and Americans for Responsible Solutions, the latter run by former Rep. Gabby Giffords.
“The Second Amendment is on the ballot this November,” the NRA’s top lobbyist Chris Cox warned last week. “Gun control groups are endorsing Hillary Clinton because they believe that she will work to eliminate individual gun ownership in this country.”
Critics are blaming the NRA for the murder of Grimmie.
“Because of this lunatic society [the National Rifle Association] there are now millions of gun owners in the USA. Every single one of them is potentially the next [Kevin James Loibi, the suspected Grimmie shooter]. The NRA trains over one million America how to kill other millions of other Americans every single year,” Paul Cashmere wrote for Noise11 on Sunday following the singer’s murder.
Editor’s note: Law enforcement in Florida has described the attack at the Pulse nightclub as an act of terrorism. If it is determined the shooter was an Islamic fanatic, this will boost the war on terror and the domestic terror angle pushed by the state.
