Trump Responded To Jeb Bush Endorsing Cruz With 1 Line That Hit Him Right Where It Hurts

Western Journalism,

For the first time in weeks, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump once again tweeted out the words “low energy” as he responded to former Gov. Jeb Bush’s endorsement of Sen. Ted Cruz.

Bush, who was mocked relentlessly by Trump prior to Bush’s dropping out of the GOP presidential race, endorsed Cruz Wednesday saying Republicans needed to “overcome the divisiveness and vulgarity Donald Trump has brought to the political arena.”

As has happened so many times before in the GOP campaign, Trump had the last word.

He followed with a tweet that read, “Low energy Jeb Bush just endorsed a man he truly hates, Lyin’ Ted Cruz. Honestly, I can’t blame Jeb in that I drove him into oblivion!”

The impact of the endorsement was downplayed by Vanity Fair writer Tina Nguyen in a piece headlined, “Jeb Bush’s Endorsement of Ted Cruz Is the Sound of One Hand Clapping.

“In a last-ditch effort to stop a certain sworn enemy of his from seizing the Republican nomination, the once-happy warrior glumly endorsed Ted Cruz on Wednesday,” she wrote. “But while the Jeb’s support was warmly accepted by the oleaginous Texas senator, it is not clear what, if any, effect it might have on a primary race defined by conservative voter’s forceful rejection of the Republican establishment the Bush name represents.”

“Much of the endorsement’s impotence stems from the endorser himself. In the past 12 months, America watched Bush wither from a former governor with decades of experience and an appealing, multi-ethnic family to a sad, miniature turtle-doling husk,” she wrote.

“There is little reason to believe that Bush’s endorsement will have any more of an impact against Trump than did his campaign—which is to say, not much at all,” she wrote.
