When is Black Friday 2013?
Black Friday is always the day after Thanksgiving. In 2013, Black Friday will be on Friday 29th November 2013. On this day, most major retailers open extremely early, often at midnight or earlier.

Question - What is Black Friday ?
Answer - The day After Thanksgiving (Friday) is known as Black Friday. This also is unofficially or officially start of holiday shopping season. Almost all stores come out with Doorbuster Sales with early bird special to attract consumers to their stores. People stand in line hours before store is opened, to grab the bargain of the year. Almost every store has something that interests every one. For bargain hunters, if there is a biggest festival in a year, that would be, no doubt, the Black Friday. That being said, please note revenue wise this is NOT the best day for stores. A couple of days before Christmas are the most prominent day from revenue perspective. Additionally, Green Monday is another big shopping day. Although Cyber Monday is relatively smaller shopping day but is growing each year.

Question - Why it is called Black Friday ?
Answer - Closest reason as to why it is know as Black Friday is given in Wikipedia - “Many retailers report some of their highest profits on Black Friday. The black portion of the name, “Black Friday” relates to businesses recording their losses in red ink and gains in black. This tradition lives on in modern accounting software, hence the name.”

Question - So When is Black Friday ?
Answer - Friday, November 29th 2013

Question - When do Retailers Officially Publish their Advertisements ?
Answer - Most ads are published in the newspaper on Thanksgiving Day. (The day before Black Friday). But more recently, many stores are starting to publish their Black Friday Ad early in November or sometime they leak it even in October. Some stores then have additional black friday doorbuster items that they only reveal on their website.

Question - Are there black friday sales online ?
Answer - While most Black Friday Sales go online on Black Friday day. However, many Black Friday deals are available online - before Black Friday. Many of such Black Friday like or even better than black Friday deals can be found at DealsOfAmerica.com throughout the year, including right now.

Question - When will you post the advertisement ?
Answer - As soon as we know about the advertisement or if someone send us the same, we will post it.

Tips for Black Friday Shopping

- Decide what you want in advance. You may NOT be able to cover all the stores and may not be able to get ALL the early bird Specials. So decide in advance what is the most important item that you absolutely need.

- Give preference to big ticket item as you will save more on those item. For example, if you are looking for a $1000 3D TV and $10 Bluetooth and both are at very good prices but are on two different stores. Savings on 3D TV may be in range of few hundred dollars while saving on Bluetooth may be in $10-$20 range.

- If possible have a group of people, but everyone going to a different store. Eah person going to any store may buy item for everyone else in the group.

- Check Price Matching Policy of stores. Some stores offer price match so instead of standing in queue you may just walk in to a store with no or less queue and that offers price match. (And yes, make sure that they have item in stock). Price Matching is always a tricky situation. Some stores may be kind enough to honour their words while other may NOT be. Some employee’s and Manager’s are also reluctant to offer price match.

- Buy in advance and get price adjusted on Black Friday day. Again, Some store may or may not adjust price. You may try return and re-purchase at Black Friday price on Black Friday. Again, some store may refuse to sale it back, stating that item has to go in first.

- Buy Only what you need. Many stores are strict on re-stocking fee which may range from 5-15%.This usually applies to big ticket electronics & tech items.

- PARK SMART. Park in the parking lot of nearby other place where there is no sale. Walk to store. This way, you wont get stuck in BIG queue of people coming in and out to the main store. - Get Dressed for winter Specially if you are in East coast or North. You don’t want to catch cold or get Sick while bargain hunting. It will kill the deal :)

- Shop Online. These day’s most Black Friday items are available online as well. With rising gas prices, sinking temperatures (harsh winter) and many online deals with Free Shipping Offers, Online Shopping is gaining ground.

Apple Black Friday deals 2013 at Walmart, Target beats others: Store opening times, hours

Customers are holding out and waiting for Black Friday 2013 to get the best deals for Apple products.

Major retailers such as Walmart, BestBuy, and Target have all released their ads with tempting deals for iPads, iPhones and Macbooks.

So far, deals for the iPad 2, iPad Air, iPad Mini 2 and iPhones seem to be the most popular among customers. Target and Walmart alike are offering fantastic deals on the tablets, so be sure to check them out if you are planning on a tablet purchase this year.

Walmart will be selling the first-generation iPad Mini for $299 and will offer a $100 gift-card with the purchase. This means that essentially you will be paying just $199 for a brand new iPad. The retail giant will also be offering a $75 gift card for any iPhone 5S or iPhone 5C purchase. (iPhone 5S will sell for $186, iPhone 5C for $48 with new two-year contract).

An iPhone trade-in program from some Walmart stores means that the company will give you up to $300 in-store credit for the purchase of a new handset. That $300 can then be used for the purchase of a new handset. You will also be receiving the $75 Walmart gift card if you decide to buy an iPhone 5S or 5C.

Target will give you a $100 gift card if you buy an iPad Air for $479. This brings down the cost of the latest iPad to just $379. A $75 gift card will be given with the purchase of an iPad Mini, and $50 for an iPod Touch purchase.

Best Buy will be discounting the iPad Air between $50 to $70, depending on the memory variant. The 16GB iPad 2 will be sold with a $100 discount.

Some Apple stores will also be opening its doors on Thanksgiving day to offer discounts. However, deals provided directly by Apple do not beat the offers by Target and Walmart.

Apple is expected to offer a discount of up to $41 off the iPad Air and up to $101 off the latest Macbook Pro and Macbook Air.

This year, many stores will be opening its doors on Thanksgiving Day in a bid to attract hard-core bargain hunters.

The following is a list of major retailers that will be opening on Thanksgiving Day.

Walmart will be openings its doors at 6p.m. on Nov. 28, Thanksgiving Day. One-hour specials in which items will be guaranteed by the retailer will be held at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. across stores nationwide.

Target will be opening at 8 p.m. Nov. 28 and close at 11p.m. Nov. 29.

BestBuy will also open over 1,000 of its stores nationwide at 6 p.m. Check local stores for times.

Macy’s department store will open on Thanksgiving Day for the first time at 8 p.m.

Kohls, JC Penney, and Sears will also open its doors at 8 p.m.
