Vice-President Pence Helps Clean Up Vandalized Jewish Cemetery

On Wednesday, Vice President Mike Pence and Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens visited a Jewish cemetery that had been vandalized in a St. Louis suburb, where they joined in the clean-up effort.

At least 170 headstones were toppled and damaged at the Chesed Shel Emeth Society cemetery in University City. Pence thanked local residents for righting the toppled headstones, saying that they are inspiring the nation with their “love and care for this place” and “showing the world what America’s really all about.” He added, “There is no place in America for hatred or acts of prejudice or violence or anti-Semitism.”

After Pence and Greitens’ remarks, they prayed with others at the scene. As they held hands in a semi-circle, a rabbi stated:

In the Jewish tradition, servicing Jewish cemeteries and dealing with the dead is considered the most unbelievable act of kindness, because every favor that you do somebody, for somebody, you don’t know if it’s real, because they can pay you back.

These people here, they can’t pay it back, so when we serve them and when we help them out, we’re never going to get it back from them. (Gesturing to the sky) We get it from up there. It is our fervent hope and prayer that through the acts of kindness that we do for the people who can no longer fight for themselves and fend for themselves, God will pay us back with only true kindness.

The rabbi then uttered Psalm 130 in Hebrew

After that, the men got to work with rakes and their own power to restore the cemetery.

Until the perpetrators of the vandalism of Jewish cemeteries is caught, I’m keeping an open mind, up to and including that the perpetrators in at least some of these may themselves be Jewish. Honestly, there’s few safer ways to try to influence American politics than to commit vandalism on empty cemeteries.

Does anyone remember the burnings of black churches that were occurring during his youth, according to bill clinton. Come to find out, he was lying, statistics did not show what he claimed.

Cemetery vandalism is likely rife, Christian, Jewish, Amish, secular. It’s what happens in unoccupied areas where people are not knowingly under surveillance. Spray painting offensive symbols are also par for the course.

Jerusalem grave vandals set Christians on edge

The article omits that the perpetrators were Jewish extremists.

A string of attacks in Israel against sacred Christian sites have set followers of the faith on edge, wondering if the property desecration will progress into assaults against people.

The latest attack: Vandals toppled stone crosses off graves, and smashed them to pieces….. That incident took place in the Protestant Cemetery of Mount Zion, one of the most historically important graveyards. Some of the headstones marked the bodies of famous 19th and 20th centuries’ figures — a German diplomat, a founder of an orphanage, a family member of famous hotel owners.

Christian clergy say relations with top religious heads have been smooth, and that police have been fast to respond to incidents. But some in the faith say more could be done to stop the attacks.

“We are striving so hard to promote dignity and respect among the living,” said one caretaker of the Protestant cemetery. “And here we have our dead people … vandalized. No human would agree with this.”

Police have arrested four in the cemetery attack, which took place last week, said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, in the AP report. But he also said they were released, pending further investigations.

Jewish Extremists’ Attacks Rattle Christians in Holy Land

Yinon Reuveni (right), one of the two suspects in the arson attack, appeared in the magistrate’s court in Nazareth in July. Reuveni and Yehuda Assraf will go on trial next year.

A nun surveys damage from the fire at the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes in northern Israel, by tradition the place where Jesus performed the miracle of feeding the masses.

And, drum roll please, Israel prevented the Church from receiving insurance money or govt compensation, check out how:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu quickly designated the fire as a terrorist attack, making the church ineligible to draw on insurance but paving the way for government compensation. Two months later, the Israeli Tax Authority declared that the violent event did not qualify as terrorism, and therefore could not receive government funding.

When Israeli President Reuven Rivlin visited the church in early September, just before meeting Pope Francis in Rome, he promised to help reverse that decision. “He was shocked by the extent of damage,” said Father Matthias. “Since then there have been a lot of meetings with the government, but no compensation.”

Respect for Christianity abounds in Israel it seems.

Back to the U.S., the Jewish Defense League.

JDL Chairman, Follower Accused of Plotting to Bomb Mosque, Congressman

The JDL was well known for it’s acts of violence to achieve political change. So, even in America, there are factions of Jews willing to commit violence to achieve specific goals.

    My assessment:

    1. Is there really an increase in vandalism against Jewish vs Christian and secular cemeteries? Without the data, any of those cemeteries can be made to look like it’s been singled out, whereas in real life, that may not be the case.

    2. Could it be democrats and SJWs that are doing this to provide the fallacious cover story that Trump supporters are doing it? In my opinion, this is most likely the case.

    3. If at least some of these events are being done by moronic adolescents, anti-Semitic correlations must be made, just because they knocked over grave markers and painted them with offensive material does not mean they are anti-Semitic. It does mean they should be held similarly liable if they did this to a Christian or secular cemetery. If evidence supports prior anti-Semitic activity, prosecute them as a hate crime.

    4. Who’s doing it? With Jewish groups bringing in muslim refugees and establishing “sanctuary synagogues” to protect muslim refugees from Trump’s executive orders, does anyone really thing the boogey man is going to be muslim, not likely.

    Why Jews Welcome muslims

The real object of Jewish fears
First of all, as crazy as it may sound, there is something that many American Jews fear in their heart of hearts even more than they fear Moslem anti-Semitism, and that is white Christian anti-Semitism. Steinlight himself pointed to this phenomenon at a recent panel discussion hosted by the Center for Immigration Studies:

“Every high profile Jewish institution, whether it’s a national organization or a major synagogue, is surrounded by concrete barriers to prevent car bombs exploding too close to the buildings. If you go through the lobbies into those buildings you have to pass metal detectors and double-doors of bulletproof glass. You are then frisked by security guards, mostly retired New York City police or Israeli agents, and then are scanned again with metal detectors.

“What is truly comic about this…..is that the staffs of these organizations pass the car bomb barriers, go through the double bulletproof glass lobbies, get frisked, then go upstairs into their offices and spend their days talking about the threats posed by evangelical Christians….”

Many Jewish centers have long ago protected themselves, so a heightened state of awareness over heinous vandalism of Jewish cemeteries likely does not translate into a fear of those centers being attacked.

I’m waiting for more info, the boogey man isn’t going to be what we expect. If I saw anyone vandalizing any cemetery, I’d immediately report it to the police.
