Donald Trump Through the Eyes of His Son
Eric Trump hits the trail for his father, opening up about his candidacy and their relationship.
MANCHESTER, N.H. — LifeZette was able to catch up with Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump, who is campaigning for his father in New Hampshire.
During the past few days, Eric and his brother Donald Jr. have taken to the trail and television networks, saying they believe the presidency was made for their pop.
“This country has done so much for my dad and for our family, he just wants to give back — and that’s why he’s in this race,” said Eric. “This job was made for him.”
It’s no secret that the Trump family is new to the political process and the campaign trail, but with a debt exceeding $19 trillion and as our country deals with the issues of having porous borders, Eric says his father had no choice but to run.
“We are very green at politics. This isn’t what we do. We’re good at building hotels, but we see this experience as positive and not a negative,” said Eric.
LifeZette asked Eric how his father will do in the Granite State.
“We feel good going into New Hampshire,” said Eric. “There’s a tremendous amount of love and support in this state from what I’ve seen on the campaign trail, and I think we will do very well.”
In Eric’s eyes, his dad is an amazing man who is his mentor and best friend.
“We do everything together,” he added.
He believes the narrative of his father’s campaign is special because he was just a guy who entered the political battlefield five months ago and he has consistently been leading in the polls.
Eric will continue to stump for his father on primary day in New Hampshire, making stops all across the state and reaching out to voters. He even joins volunteers in making phone calls from one of their campaign’s phone bank locations. The thing that keeps him going is the passion he sees from voters who are inspired by his father’s message, he said.
