Liberals Link Trump to 2014 Bundy Standoff
Raw Story claims Jerry DeLemus is formally linked to the Trump campaign.
The leftist website Raw Story posted the following headline today: “Trump campaign co-chair arrested for conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States.”
FBI agents did in fact arrest Jerry DeLemus on charges related to the Bundy ranch standoff in 2014.
To call DeLumus a “campaign co-chair,” however, is highly misleading. He is the co-chair of Veterans for Trump in New Hampshire. The organization cannot formally be considered a part of the Trump campaign.
In July 2015 Donald Trump announced the formation of the coalition to advocate for “veterans and military families in New Hampshire, where there continues to be overwhelming support for Mr. Trump.”
The Raw Story write-up focuses on DeLumus’ activism in Nevada and Oregon and mentions he is a staunch Trump supporter.
At least one tweet tried to link Trump directly to the group and went so far as to characterize DeLumus as an “advisor” to the presidential frontrunner:
@GOP_Left_ME @longhaul52 btw, Trump advisor Jerry Delumus is also a supporter of the domestic terrorists in Oregon. pic.twitter.com/j4RiJpaG9h
