Democrats Whine About Trey Gowdy Doing His Job… Gowdy’s Response Is Legendary

It’s not surprising that the Democratic establishment has tried to stop Rep. Trey Gowdy at every turn as he investigates the Benghazi terror attack. However, this sort of thing doesn’t get the South Carolina representative down. In fact, if his responses are any clue, such opposition invigorates him. Take the Democratic whining about Gowdy’s intent to subpoena State Department officials.

Democrats wrote, “We are writing to request that you schedule a special meeting of the Select Committee in order to vote on your unnecessary and abusive plan to issue 22 subpoenas to State Department employees, particularly given that the Committee just received a letter this morning from the State Department requesting a meeting to schedule these very interviews.”

Gowdy

Gowdy made sure that the Democrats knew that this wasn’t partisanship, nor would their partisanship get them anywhere, saying, “I will continue to move the investigation forward in a fair and impartial manner, but I will not allow the minority’s political games and unreasonable demands to interfere with the investigation.” (H/T Western Journalism)

“The minority has repeatedly indicated it is unwilling to issue any subpoenas. If subpoenas are necessary for the committee to talk to relevant witnesses or access relevant documents, they will be issued,” Gowdy continued.

Gowdy is right, of course. The Democrat Party has consistently used appeals to emotion – the idea that calling witnesses is “unnecessary and abusive” – to distract from the fact that the Benghazi attacks need to be investigated.

Nobody has bought these arguments – least of all, the people who authored them.

If subpoenas are necessary, subpoenas are necessary. This isn’t a matter of political motivation, it’s a matter of discovering the truth.

The only politicization here is that of the Democratic Party, with their constant roadblocks. Thank God we have the right people to remove them.
