Glenn Beck Calls Chris Christie ‘a Fat Nightmare’

Conservative commentator Glenn Beck blasted Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie , calling him “a fat nightmare” and labeling him as a “progressive.”

“Chris Christie is a fat nightmare,” Beck told conservative interviewer S.E. Cupp on “Piers Morgan Live” on CNN. “He is a nightmare.”

Even as Cupp rattled off some of Christie’s accomplishments — including recent surveys that the governor could beat potential Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in a 2016 presidential contest — Beck says: “Don’t care … don’t care … don’t care.”

Beck is founder of The Blaze cable and online news network and is the author of the new book, “Miracles and Massacres: True and Untold Stories of the Making of America.”

In the interview, he noted how some of Christie’s positions — on gun control and the environment, for instance — ran counter to conservative principles.

“He’s not a conservative. He’s a progressive,” Beck said. “Have you ever looked into his, uh, nightmare of global warming?”

Beck, who in recent weeks has attacked such GOP leaders as House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, said he could not name a Republican who could win the White House in 2016.

“I don’t know, because I don’t trust any of them,” he said, before admitting, “I like Ted Cruz a lot.”

However, Beck doesn’t think the freshman Texas senator — who spoke 21 hours and 19 minutes against Obamacare on the Senate floor in September — could win the presidency, leaving him to seek a more viable candidate.

“Yes … I’m not going to play the game of … I’m not going to sell my principles out anymore,” Beck told Cupp, who also is a Blaze commentator.

In addition, Beck said that Republicans will no longer win the presidency because “they don’t stand for anything. What do they stand for?”

If Republicans opposed “big government healthcare,” referring to Obamacare, then they should defund it “because millions of people are going to lose their healthcare,” Beck said. “Defund it.”

But most GOP legislators objected to that, he said, because “we will lose. Well, you said you were against it. So, what you’re for is another version of big government healthcare designed by you.

“You’re not for the free market; you’re for things designed by you. That’s where it all goes wrong.”

He told Cupp that he advised listeners to his radio and television programs to “to find somebody that they agree with — whether it’s Hillary Clinton, Chris Christie, or a libertarian, or Bob the Dog.

“Vote for who you believe in,” Beck added. “Stop listening to the media. Stop listening to me, you, or anybody else that says: ‘Don’t. You’ve gotta vote this way.’ No. Vote for what you believe in.”
